  • Is the consumer ready to buy upholstery online?

It seems that the notion of buying upholstery online has been a bit of a no no. But as people get used to buying more diverse items such as clothes and white goods online, they are becoming more willing to buy furniture online. I am currently working on my website, www.stevenbiddulph.com and will be adding e-commerce capability. I intend to allow customers to change the colours and fabrics while viewing the chosen design. In the past I have sent fabric samples to customers not able to visit the shop, and they made a choice based on the samples. Other online upholstery retailers are www.sofa.com who sell their sofas pretty much exclusively online Over to you, my lovely readers, what do you think about buying upholstery online? what would put you off? and what features would give you the confidence to buy online? Sit comfortably.

  • The chair of your dreams

As I sit here munching my lunch, I have started pondering what would be the chair of your dreams? some people may like a gadget laden future tech monster that is perhaps an extension of Joey's la-z-boy. Others may like a super stylish design reminiscent of a Jimmy Choo in the best silk velvet money can buy. I often ponder these things, as unless you don't know, I design and make chairs. (see www.stevenbiddulph.com) Has the chair of your dreams already been produced? are you nurturing a cash fund to buy it? or is it cheap and plentiful?  Does the world need another chair? So many questions, tell me what you think. Sit comfortably. Steven.
