Well today I am happy because the shop that i have a part share in was featured in a fabulous article in The Financial Times. The piece was beautifully written and there was a lovely photo of us all in the shop.( Well all of us except me ...as typically I was abroad on a shoot when the photographer came!) The shop is called Luna & Curious and is in Brick Lane ( www.lunaandcurious.com). It sells work by the six of us who started it and we also regularly feature work by other artist/designer /makers whose work we love. In fact we featured Tina Tsangs fabulous ceramics before they were here on mydeco. The shop was started by my friend Susie Coulthard who is a costume designer/stylist extraordinaire ...and whom I regularly collaborate with on my TV commercials and videos. Luna & Curious sells curious and fabulous things including vintage clothes/fashion by Susie Coulthard, ceramics by Polly George, jewellery by Rheanna Lingham, Cushions by Kate Halfpenny and my range of more »

I just did the 'your style' questions and am quite surprised at the analysis :-) ...particularily the things that were then suggested i might like ...as I didn't really like any of them ...apart from an office desk for a mere £3,000 ...which is out of my price range! So for any of you out here who are nosy enough to want to know here are some specifics about things I do have in my home ...that I absolutely love ! ..BUT ..as there was nothing like these offered to me in the questions i did as asked and chose the one i most liked out of what was offered. Right -Bedroom- the obligatory 'feature wall' just for the record I wanted the WHOLE ROOM papered ..but the boyfriend won the arm wrestle so we have the aforementioned FW ! It is Timorous Beasties' McGegan Rose in black , white and beige. Our bed is to die for ..and ok this is retro ..no ..it is a design classic - by Hans Wegner-It's oak and on either side of the headboard it has a floating side table with black glass top (mmmmm!!!) we more »

  • merebah( hello in turkish) from Istanbul

I am currently working in Istanbul. I have the great good fortune to travel a lot with my work a s a director of Tv commercials and music videos. As my work is all about visuals the look of everything on camera is highly important to me! ...and as an ex production designer/ art director I am very 'hands on' with that department ...and like a magpie always looking for and collecting inspiration. Istanbul is certainly inspirational. I am currently in 'Europe' on the west side of the Bosphorous, but cross over it to the east and you are in Asia! I am staying at the fabulous boutique Sofa Hotel. which is definitely one to try if you come here. It is in the heart of Nisantasi which is Istanbul's equivalent of London's Bond Street. It also has a recently opened uber-trendy restaurant night spot called The Longtable with the most fabulous ceiling...hundreds of different sizes and styles of chandeliers hanging down , mixed with a couple of child sized carousel horses. Also the entrance more »
