My personal approach to design is to recycle, repurpose or reinvent. They all are about creating other uses, for items that mankind has made for one reason or another, and are no longer needed for that purpose. The process of repurposing something old into new is an exciting prospect and lengthening the longevity of an item is a key factor within my designs. All designs are copyright to Vampeddesigns

  • What a month.......

Well what a month.....New designers went really well for me I had a lot of lovely feedback and great responses to all of my pieces. Where do I start..... I chatted to the representatives of some of my favourite design places, Design Museum, Redesign, Icon, IDFX, Tent and Design Excellence and since then I have had some lovely feedback from them. I have had a small feature in this month’s IDFX and have been successful in applying to be in this year’s lighten up exhibition with [re]design at 100% and just today I have been successful in getting into Heart and Design, ( www.heartanddesign.org ) Heart and Design are giving the opportunity to 15 young designers to exhibit their pieces alongside their top designers. This event will attract design scouts from the UK and overseas all looking for that unique quirky Britishness. I am so lucky I can’t quite believe it; today I have been too excited to function! I will submit a one off Hula into a silent auction with some of the proceeds going more »

I also received my results yesterday and passed with first class honours! and today I got accepted into an entrepreneurial boot camp......a four day residential course, it will be a great oppurtunity to get advice from industry professionals about my business ideas! and my work is being showcased on the homepage of finalcrit.com..........I have been very lucky indeed! I am now organising myself for the Bar show on tuesday and wednesday of next week in Earls court.....I will be exhibiting with Hula mark 1 and Lightable, should be a great oppurtunity to gaige the opinion on my more »

  • Exhibiting at the Heard Gallery, Clapham

Just packed Hula mark 2 up ready for the long trip to London in the morning. I have been asked to be part of The Heard Gallery's first exhibition "Brand Spanking New". Heard Creative has launched its own design gallery in a bid to champion new product, print and furniture design by showcasing the work of up-and-coming talent. A dynamic collection of designs will include the beautifully made pencil bench by Sam Boex, Vivienne Westwood's limited edition Opus Book which reflects the passion of her collections, all of which are individually signed. A quirky hall stand by Nick Fraser, unique chairs by Julian Meyer, intriguing wireless audio speakers by Ben Parfitt, Here Hooks by Richard Shed, stunning Wallpaper by Johanna Basford and limited editioned jewellery by Katie Rowland. And from tomorrow Hula will be joining the collection. I have been so lucky since I handed in my final work and the Heard Gallery will be my first "real" exhibition, I cant wait to get the light down to more »
