  • Aah the joy of mixing family with business

Since my last post things have moved on somewhat. The shopping trip to Leeds was eventful  - who knew that shopping for towels and other bathroom bits and bobs would be so exhausting. The quality versus price - will the colour stay fast( went with mostly black towels as opposed to white) The room is mid change - but this is due to several factors: Brother in law and sister in law run their own Building maintenance company - and are branching out. Decision made to hire them for the job. Great commitment for the 1st 2 weeks - long days , whole weekend - (it's a big job for a one man band) But the other maintenance contract jobs take a priority - so we get pushed to the side. So I am able to bathe, use the loo , get washed - but it is still a "work in progress" . It still looks great even in this state - but can't wait for the final smear of grout and to hang the shower curtain - because it's all about those beautiful finishing touches -isn't it?

Many, many days, in fact weeks have been spent on working out what each room in my tiny little house in Rastrick will be like. The bathroom will be beautiful, restful and calm. At present it's sad, worn and tatty ( why do cosmetic changes whe, muck and rusbbish generated as old bath is ripped out the nasty tiles are stripped away.... yet i know that my new bath will look lovely - the claw feet will gleam on the black more »
