Mi case es your home?

As someone who shares an English and Spanish heritage, I’m constantly torn when it comes to deciding how my house should look. Part of me wants to stick with the cosy, warm, cubby-hole environment that British houses promote, whereas the other part of me wants to strip things down and promote the crisp, clear, stark (yet colourful) style that runs throughout Spanish homes. It’s a tough one to call – or perhaps I should combine the two? I’m really interested in how your culture affects the style of home you build around yourself, and how – even if you live in another country – you design your house to provide an element of comfort and reassurance by reminding yourself of back home. I guess it’s quite selfish, in a way. So, Spanish or English? Or fusion? What do you think?
