Buying online with mydeco – it’s no-stress, sleep-at-night easy.
If you’ve found something you love on mydeco.com and are thinking about getting out your plastic, you might like to know that buying online is just as risk-free as buying from a shop.
1. Your rights to a refund
Thanks to a very helpful set of regulations called the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, customers who purchase online are protected with a no-quibble returns guarantee. Just like buying from your favourite high street shop, if you don’t like the product upon receipt you can pack it up again (within seven working days) and send it back to the retailer you bought it from to receive a full refund. You don’t even have to give a reason.
2. Will I have to pay for postage if I want to return something?
This one depends on the individual retailer. Your statutory rights (the ones they always mention on receipts!) ensure that postage must be covered by the retailer if your item is not of satisfactory quality, or is not fit for the purpose it was intended. Whilst many retailers may cover postage if you change your mind, they are by no means legally obliged to, so it’s safest to check the individual returns policy of the retailer when you buy.
3. Check the individual retailer
These are the minimum refund terms that you are legally entitled to when you buy online – many of the retailers on mydeco offer even more generous return policies. You can find details of every retailer’s Return Policy on the retailer’s website.
A small number of product categories fall outside this no-quibble returns guarantee. You are not entitled to refunds on bespoke products made to your specification, perishable goods (such as fresh fruit and flowers), newspapers, audio/ video recordings and goods that by their nature can’t be returned. However, the vast majority of products you can buy on mydeco ARE covered by the returns guarantee.
